THE BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCE - PART 6
"That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit."
Jesus is speaking here and He is dividing the whole human race into two and only two classes:
1) those who have been born of the flesh; and
2) those who have been born of the Spirit.
All human beings have been born of the flesh - meaning they have been born of their Mother.
But not all have been born of the Spirit, or born again.
Today in religion everyone argues that their religion is the right one. One will say "I'm Catholic"; or "I'm Protestant". or "I'm a Baptist". All think they are in the right religion. But all religions are the same - they all believe you can be right with God through some kind of works.
When one is born again, or born from above, they realize they don't need religion; all they need is CHRIST!
Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6).
Sinners don't need religion; sinners need CHRIST!
Have you been born again?
Or are you still clinging to some man made religion?
God rejects all this mess men and women have made called religion - which ever one it is. Salvation, Christianity is a relationship with a person: CHRIST - not a religion. So all God sees is sinners which have been born only once:
1) born of the flesh; and
2) those who have been born twice or born again - born of the flesh AND born of the Spirit.
God only sees two types of sinners!
Religion will tell us we need to do this or that to be born again or saved (works). But God tells us:
"A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven."
Getting born again is not an act of the flesh, or by our works - it is a work of God in the heart that points sinners to Christ for ALL of salvation.
What must we do?
Someone asked Jesus: "What shall we do, that we might do the works of God?" (John 6:28).
Jesus replied in John 6:29: "This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent (Christ)".
Here is a promise of God:
"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
When one is born again they believe on Jesus Christ ALONE for ALL of their salvation from their sins!
Now if you make this confession, and add ANY work or religion this testifies that you have not yet been born again. You are just a religious person who has been born only of the flesh. Those who have been born of the Spirit trust only in Christ for salvation:
"But God forbid that I should glory (have confidence in), save (except) in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ."
The cross here isn't speaking of a piece of wood we own; the cross here represents all that Christ did to save His people.
We will close with another promise from God. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28:
"Come unto me all that labour and are heavy laden, (all those who realize themselves to be sinners, weighed down with the weight of their sins. These are the quickened children of God) and I will give you rest."
Those of us who have been born again rejoice in this message, and rejoice that today is still the day of salvation:
"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation."
